“Make ready for them all that you can of force and of warhorses, so that by them you may strike terror in the enemy of Allah and your enemy…” (Qur’an 8:60)
“Once known as the Home of Peace and Tourism, Plateau State has become a ground of recurrent violence.”
What fun they’ll have in Europe.
“Armed Herdsmen Kill Seven People Including Pregnant Woman In Plateau Communities,” Sahara Reporters, April 3, 2024:
At least seven persons were confirmed dead during fresh attacks launched in some rural communities of Plateau State.
Three out of the deceased were residents of Tangur 1 village in the Bokkos Local Government Area of the state.
It was learnt that they were killed on Monday night in a violent attack allegedly carried out by Fulani herdsmen.
A source from the community told FIJ that the armed herders attacked the village around 9:30pm but were eventually repelled by the military.
It was gathered the attackers killed a man, a little boy, and a pregnant woman before the Nigerian Army personnel arrived….
Once known as the Home of Peace and Tourism, Plateau State has become a ground of recurrent violence. In January, 23 people lost their lives to terrorist attacks, and some others died in February and March.
In December, armed Fulani herders brought the carnage to Bokkos and Barkin LGA in an attack that led to the deaths of over 160 people.

This is so tragic and the world seems to only yawn while Christians are being slaughtered on a daily basis. I used to drive from Abuja to Lagos (2003 – 2005) when the Consulate required assistance because the drive was pleasant but now I would not feel safe driving from the Embassy in Abuja to my residence that was only minutes from the Embassy. My wife and I with two friends drove to Kano for a flight to Egypt and we never had any concerns about our safety. There are times like now that I feel so sad for the good Christians and other non-Muslims in that nation.

Ray, I remember in times now past, on old tv shows about Africa, it’s land, animals and people, seeing “herdsmen” walking slowly and quietly behind their cattle. They carried long sticks, like sheep herders might, to prod the animals along; but they had no guns and didn’t seem intent on killing anything or anyone.
But as you make clear with your own experiences, all of that has changed…and none for the better.

So true, in fact, there was an event where the Imir from Enugu State was at the Embassy for an event and his guardsmen were the Fulani Herdsmen were acting as his security but they were carrying their traditional herdsmen sticks, no guns. The Embassy also provided a space on one side of the chancery building for them to bang their heads on the ground. As the old but still applicable adage goes, those were the good old days.
It seems that the only countries in the southern part of Africa that is fairly safe in are Namibia and Zimbabwe.

mozlums….mozlum terrorists. mozlum rapists, kidnappers and murderers.
They, like hamas, hezbollah, houthis, iran, taliban, pakistanis murdering people for their property, mozlums luring and killing children in India, etc. will not stop on their own.

Maybe this would stop if those villagers were armed. If the Christians won’t even attempt to defend themselves it is tantamount to suicide, and they should not expect anyone else to save them.
James Lincoln says
tharmon,
The Christians would fight back if they had M-16s, grenade launchers – and plenty of ammo.
Western nations should supply them directly – and not go through the corrupt Nigerian government.

I recall as few years ago that the elected head of Nigeria who is a Muslim himself passed a law banning modern weapons from being owned by Christian herdsmen and farmers and allowed only “traditional” African weapons – spears and bow and arrows to be used by them. I do not know if this “law” is still in effect.
Ray Jarman says
Rick, you are correct and if the Christians living in Hausa states were to arm themselves, the Nigerian army would do much more harm than the headbanging herdsmen. These Christians are in a harrowing position and the only way to assist them would be through international pressure and it seems that is unlikely. With the UN under Islamic control, relief much less intervention seems plausible and forthcoming.
somehistory says
The U.S. government armed the mozlum government of nigeria. Those mozlums in charge, armed the so-called fulani herdsmen and even send in military troops to help out when times get tough.
No one armed the innocent Christians and no one will.
rick says
Nigerian Christians should announce a Christian celebration and make sure the Muslim terrorists hear about it. Meanwhile they should plant an anti-terrorist ambush and wait for the Muslims to show up and simply annihilate them. Make sure to include a scheduled “Beauty Contest” of Christian girls to make sure the very scum of the Muslim leadership show up.
James Lincoln says
rick,
The biggest problem is that the Christians have no effective weapons to arm the anti-terrorist ambush.
