The Today show’s Hoda Kotb was in a fine froth on Tuesday when she found out how much WNBA rookie Caitlin Clark will be making. Clark on Monday became the WNBA’s #1 overall draft pick, and immediately signed with the Indiana Fever for $338,000, which would be a low salary in the NBA for one year. But Clark’s contract was for four years, meaning that she will likely be the WNBA’s standout player until Old Joe Biden is 86 years old for the decidedly workaday sum of $76,535.

Kirk says
How much money the athletes make is based on how much revenue the league makes. The WNBA just doesn’t bring in the kind of money the NBA does. It’s that simple.

Exactly! It’s the same with the major men’s soccer teams compared with their femal counterparts. The men’s teams bring in more money and are more popular overall.

The NBA subsidized the WNBA to the tune of 11 million last year.. Instead of complaining they should be grateful they get to play a GAME and get paid for it. There season is only a few months so if you average out their salary they make more in 4/5 months than most do in a year, for playing a GAME.. If you want to earn more $$ and respect quit complaining, quit with the leftist politics and try to be more entertaining..

Who should care? It’s between the player and the owners. What business is it of anyone else?
I am reminded of the lesson Jesus gave of the owner of the vineyard paying a certain amount to his workers….no matter what time of day they arrived to work.
The one arriving at the ‘last hour’ received the same as the one arriving early. The ones arriving early complained, but were reminded that they had agreed to that amount and if the owner wanted to pay the late arrivals the same, ‘what business was it to the ones who worked all day’?
Hoi Polloi says
Good reminder of that Scripture.

Thank you, HP.

What is being overlooked, is that Caitlin Clark will likely make millions with product endorsements, etc.
