The question was: “Will they confirm unequivocally that a Christian who says that Jesus is the only son of the one true God cannot be arrested for hate crime or any other offence, however much it may offend a Muslim or anyone of any other religion?”
The answer: “My Lords, I am not going to comment on that last question from the noble Lord.”
In an age when British police are devoting astonishing amounts of time to arresting people for speech that offends Muslims, this is no surprise. When you’re busy enforcing Sharia, how can you confirm that you won’t arrest someone for offending Muslims and making an un-Islamic statement?
“British Government refuses to say whether proclaiming divinity of Christ is a hate crime,” Catholic Herald, December 14, 2017:
The British government has refused to say whether telling people about the Christian faith could be a hate crime.
Lord Pearson of Rannoch, a UKIP peer, says when he raised a question on the issue on the House of Lords, the government failed to state clearly whether Christians cannot be prosecuted just for stating their beliefs.
“I said to the government ‘Will they confirm unequivocally that a Christian who says that Jesus is the only son of the one true God cannot be arrested for hate crime or any other offence, however much it may offend a Muslim or anyone of any other religion?’”
In response to the question, government whip Baroness Vere of Norbiton said: “My Lords, I am not going to comment on that last question from the noble Lord.” She added that the legal definition of “hate crime” has been the same for the past 10 years.
Speaking to Premier Christian Radio, Lord Pearson said the refusal to comment was “pretty unique” and “makes one very worried”.
He said the current definition of “hate crime”, which relies on whether the victim feels offended, was “stupid” and called for the law to be clarified.
“Certainly the stricter Muslims do feel offended by Christianity and our belief in Jesus being the only Son of the one true God,” he added.
He also said there is a double standard in how hate crime laws are applied to Christianity and Islam.
“You can say what you like about the Virgin Birth, the miracles and the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, but as soon as you say ‘come on, is Islam really the religion of peace that it claims to be’, all hell breaks loose.”…

Did you know that there were prophecies at the time the Brexit vote was being taken?
They said that if Britain voted to leave the UK, God would not judge the UK as he is going to judge Europe.
We left, but we still have to pray the prophesy into reality. (Just as Daniel had to pray for the return when he realised the 70 years had passed)
Now it is the job of the UK Christians to pray into reality a revival for only a Christian revival can stop the spread of Islam even in the UK. We have a few praying politicians and many praying Christians in the UK. We are horrified that our politicians are so spineless they will not take a stand against sharia law. (For that is what it is)
Slowly the UK is waking up to the horror only God can free us from – namely submission to Allah.
Some of us may lose our lives over it, or just our freedom. But YHWH God is a God of mercy and we must allow him to lead us into the freedom he wants us to have.

In 1776 when the USA rebelled against England it was because England wanted to confiscate printing presses and control free speech in the colonies. As well as taxation without representation.. Many printed words were deemed offensive to King George…
Or was their additional reasons?
Today in England it is perfectly legal to scream in public Qur’an 9.5 which states to kill all unbelievers where you find them..
But if you take Qur’an 9.5 and swap the word Unbeliever with Muslim, it is a inverse Qur’anic verse. Same exact phrase only two words swapped..
You could be imprisoned for life for hate speech and the desecration of the words of the Qur’an.
I believe the extreme censorship our founders rebeled against, may have been religiously driven by a natural fear of Islam well known at the time and that it is justified for any society to remain free….

Lord Pearson is an absolutely splendid chap and was very highly thought of by Mrs Thatcher.
It is a great shame that there are not more people of his intelligence and far sightedness in the House of Lords, instead of the left wing scum which now mainly inhabits it. Most of them were put there because they gave large amounts of money to Labour.
Lord Pearson led a great campaign to get Britain out of the EU. Sadly people of his ilk are now far and few between.
Unlike most of the dross which passes for politicians, Lord Pearson is an exemplary politician fighting for the good of his country.

Lord Pearson’s question is a VERY IMPORTANT ONE, since Christmas will soon be upon us!
Christmas is hated by pious Muslims, since it is the ultimate expression of SHIRK (wrong worshiping) and (in their view) of polytheism. Christmas is the Feast of the Incarnation (of God) and Muslims consider it the greatest blasphemy, since ‘Allah can do all things’, except he cannot be incarnated for some reason.
ALL churches should prepare for JIHAD ATTACKS at Christmas by placing someone armed and dangerous near the church door, hopefully a former commando or retired cop who will know how to defend the congregation.

I hope Pearson and his colleagues pursue this issue to the end. Calling someone’s god “a puke” to a believer’s face is insulting (still allowable in my book, as long as the insulted can respond in kind). Saying, “Bieber is greater” is not (if you’re a Belieber), although it may insult the intelligence of many.
The whip’s answer is extremely disturbing. What is freedom of speech if you can’t state you believe or do not believe in something? Does this “new normal” put a muslim in jail for saying that Jesus is not god to a Trinitarian? People can be insulted by anything if they’re in the wrong mood. Of course, governments like to have a quiet populace that just votes the same people in every election and pay their taxes without a whimper.

It takes a while till people tell you that they are Christians, never mind the details. That’s also true in Germany…
Well, for over 70 years the media has been telling us, more and more frenzied as time passed, how stupid/irrational it is to be a Christian, to believe in God, etc. It was about 2 years ago, there was an article in one of the “Daily ****” (Telegraph/Express/Mail) which stated that Christians are socially awkward…You wouldn’t want one of them as a guest when you throw a party… Others: Christians are really Nazis in pin stripes, and so and so forth.
So, don’t be surprised. It’s going to get worse!
Monty says
Funny that. I would not want to be a guest at one of their parties either. Social awkwardness is when I cannot join in with the sleaze, drunkenness, character assassination, gossip and arrogance that are the hallmark of a “successful” party in the world. You want awkward? Tell someone that you are a Christian at a party. See how awkward they get! Yes, it will get worse. And maybe that is a good thing. Too many are Christians in name only, although that is changing. When being Christian costs something, maybe only the real will be willing to pay the price.

@PRCS,
Can you say for sure that Allah is not Satan? Islam denies the crucifixion
and, by extension, the redemptive work of Christ, as well as him being the
son of God. This aligns perfectly with 1 John 2: 22, concerning the
Antichrist. The attributes of Satan are the same as those of Allah “the
most proud”, “the greatest of all deceivers”, “the god of the world” etc.
Allah also looks for people to populate Hell with.
God loves the Jews, whereas Satan’s army will converge on Jerusalem
in an attempt to massacre them all. It just so happens that Allah also wants
to annihilate the Jews and Muslims are told to look forward to the final day
when they’ll behead them.
The appalling treatment of Christians in Muslim countries – in keeping
with Islamic scripture, of course – is there for all to see.
I’m only picking a few examples out of the many commonalities I have

Christians have only themselves to blame. Too many are insular, spiritually lazy and complacent. Islam has been a threat for centuries. For a long time, it was held in check. Over the last decades we have witnessed a decline in Christianity that is mirrored by rejection of Christian values and morals. At the same time, the anti-Christ Islam has risen up and occupied the vacuum left by the apostate church. Judgement begins in the Church, so the bible says. And we are seeing exactly that in the UK and much of Europe. The answer is in 2 Chronicles 7:14.
DRHazard says
These irrational “protectors” of Muslims may find they have to tread lightly or remain silent, as happened in this case, when deciding whether a Christian publicly proclaiming their beliefs constitutes hate speech.
Why? Because the Quran is a book overflowing with hatred of non-Muslims. Claiming that Jesus did not die on the cross, was not resurrected and is definitely not the Son of God will anger many Christians and may actually hurt the feelings of some. But since Christians also know about forgiveness and tolerance they never ask for the police to step in. In other words, Christians and most non-Muslims, act like mature adults. Muslims, by and large, react with the emotional maturity of a 3 year old who just found out his brother was given a much better toy than he was.
The Quran contains ideas that match those followed and enforced by Nazi Germany. An honest and objective politician in the UK would have to admit it. They won’t. They do not care about the feelings of Christians, Jews, Hindus, atheists, Buddhists, or members of any religion other than Islam. If they did, then they would ban the Quran. Sadly, for a government whose primary role is to protect it’s citizens, it will only protect those citizens, non-citizens, illegal immigrants and anyone else within it’s borders who are Muslm. It’s an insane position since these are the same people who hate and kill decent, law abiding, tolerant and generous, non-Muslim citizens.
Europe is collapsing under the weight of it’s morally deranged leaders and the brutality and unearned sense of entitlement of Muslims. This “virus” has become symptomatic in most European countries and is now showing up in Canada and the US.
As long as the disease of Islam exists humanity will always be under the threat of extermination. It is preceded by warping the minds of those exposed to it who have not protected themselves with knowledge of the disease. That, in fact, is the vaccine for Islam; just read the Quran and the scholars who interpret it.

R Russell says
Thank you for clarifying that. I know where you are coming from now.
I don’t want to sound patronising so as an explanation I may be saying things you already know, but I don’t know you know. My apologies for that if it is the case.
Understandably when we come across something we want to fight against we think we can approach the problem as we see it – as it appears to our 5 senses. That is what is happening as our country of the UK is becoming more sharia complaint.
However, most people worldwide believe there is a spiritual realm, impinging on the material realm. Christians also believe there is a spiritual realm. This is how it works.
Because humanity chose not to trust God, and to disobey him, we are influenced by the beings of the unsavoury spiritual realm. Some more than others. Some out of choice, others influenced against their will. Others contact YHWH God, the creator and the one, not wanting robots allowed humans to make choices. It is known that our DNA is affected through generations by personal choices. This means all humans now, as YHWH said have an internal ‘bent’ or inclination to do what they want rather than what he wants. Some more than others, some much less than others. In other words there is a battle internally and externally influenced by YHWH’s spiritual realm or the realm headed by an angel gone bad trying to take power from his creator YHWH and defeat him.
The very end of my previous comment said that Christians need to approach the problem in the Spiritual realm.
This is because Christians have been given authority to fight and win in this spiritual battle by the power and authority given to us by Jesus.
We are told, “for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ ….. ”
Many Christians forget being told this and set out to try to approach the battle with the 5 senses alone. They forget that there are spiritual forces involved in both sides of the problem and to try to succeed against the powerful spiritual forces on ‘the other side’ with their own intellect and other material ways to oppose the problem has limited effect.
There are times when this appears to work, but for the best outcome we are to fight this battle against the spiritual powers behind it and influencing it.
Fasting and praying which seem foolish in the material realm have an effect in the spiritual realm. That is why this type of warfare has been given to Christians.
I am delighted that atheists like yourself are fully awake when it comes to knowing the extent of the problem Islam has for our world. I am delighted you want to be part of the solution and will endeavour to become part of that solution. I would say that only part of the battle is in the material realm and that is why I stated that only Christians had the ability to fight the matter in the spiritual realm.
Non-Christians seeking to fight the battle in the spiritual realm have yet to have the protection available only to those submitted to YHWH and thus suffer.
I hope that clarifies the matter for you.
I wonder if their is anything you would wish to contribute about your belief in atheism?
Your choice; but I would welcome a discussion about why atheism became your faith choice and why you prefer it to a friendship with the Jesus revealed in the Bible
PRCS says
As Allah does not exist–having been concocted by whomever wrote Qur’an–there is no spiritual realm to it.
Ibrahim itace muhammed says
R Russell, if it is true that an image appears to Muslims claiming to be Jesus as God or son of God, it must be the Satan (the cursed one). I saw the Satan(holy spirit) at a christian graveyard in zaria city of Northern Nigeria when my parents were expatriate university teachers there.
gravenimage says
Wait–now the illiterate Ibrahim itace muhammed is claiming that his parents were teachers at university? That is either an indictment of the state of Islamic education, or else shows that he must have been a real disappointment to his folks…
Whatever the case, it is clear that he hopes that the “filthy Infidels” will enforce Shari’ah law for him.
No Fear says
So you saw a vision of Mohammed….was he encouraging his soldiers to rape?
The Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him) sent a military expedition to Awtas on the occasion of the battle of Hunain. They met their enemy and fought with them. They defeated them and took them captives. Some of the Companions of the Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him) were reluctant to have intercourse with the female captives in the presence of their husbands who were unbelievers. So Allah, the Exalted, sent down the Qur’anic verse: (Sura 4:24) “And all married women (are forbidden) unto you save those (captives) whom your right hands possess.” (Abu Dawud 2150, also Muslim 3433)
Paul says
@Ibrahim itace muhammed,
Mohammedan, who needs Satan when you and scum like you
worship and emulate a sadistic and narcissistic paedophile warlord
like Mohammed?
R Russell says
Ibrahim Itace Muhammed,
Can I suggest you ask the creator of the universe to come to you in a dream and reveal his character to you.
If he comes asking for the death of the infidel, you are being deceived.
Allah is never spoken of as a God of Love. If the creator of the universe comes to you in a dream as love, you have found the one who loves you so much that he became a sacrifice to remove your sin from you. This is the Jesus of the Bible, not the Isa of the Koran. (2 different persons)
Charles Martel Appreciation Society. says
No one can see God and live. So whatever you saw was not the Holy Spirit. And how may I ask, would you be able to discern between the Holy Spirit and satan, because you seem unable to discern between a true and a false prophet, or a true and a false God?
Kay says
Ibrahim, part of the reason you are so confused is that words seem to have slippery definitions for you. It makes it so you can’t think straight.
Try to get clear on what words mean. (If you sincerely want to know the Holy Spirit, just ask).
Sarah says
I am genuinely very curious, as to what Ibrahim thought he saw, in a Christian graveyard in Nigeria (of all places)???
And what was it, that made him think it was a holy apparition of some debatable sort?
gravenimage says
Sarah, Ibrahim itace muhammed is himself Nigerian–just check out his Facebook page.
And he didn’t think the apparition he saw was holy–whatever it was, he sees it as further ‘proof’ that Christians should be oppressed and murdered.
He was probably in that Christian graveyard desecrating the headstones. Perhaps a Christian tried to stop him.
He has said bizarre things before–that in New York City an entire bus full of Christian women attempted to have sex with him in public is one of my “favorites”…
LeftisruiningCanada says
A few probably just made eye contact with him.
That is enough to set off the islamic brain.

UK government refuses to say whether proclaiming divinity of Christ is a hate crime
…………………….
Just grotesque. This means that any believing Christian in Britain may be arrested and charged with a “hate crime” merely for believing in Christ. How is this possible?
Linda says
In a “multicultural” society, all religions would be seen as equal. It looks as though Britain has crossed over the line and is now in the territory of “Sharia compliant”.
Eric says
No government has the authority to judge the veracity of Christian beliefs. We have separation of church and state. Ones belief in Christian teachings is solely under the control of the heart and soul of the believer. No government may put its seal of approval or prohibition upon ones Christian beliefs.
Where are the spineless preachers on this matter? I have seen preachers condemn people for having a beer or playing a lottery number; but they are silent when it comes to protecting the rights of Christians. I for one am willing to get along with all persons but if the price of getting along is my destruction, then I am not interested.

So now preaching the gospel is ‘potentially’ a ‘hate crime’ in the satanic UK?!
I knew these things were around the corner, but wow.
Yes, the deity of Christ is true.
And the Bible, including the Old Testament, teaches the Trinity; One God in three distinct persons.
“For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us;
And the government will rest on His shoulders;
And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace,
On the throne of David and over his kingdom,
To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness
From then on and forevermore.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will accomplish this.” Isaiah 9; 6-7
(Messiah is divine, also other Bible verses show that, OT & NT)
“But as for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah,
Too little to be among the clans of Judah,
From you One will go forth for Me to be ruler in Israel.
His goings forth are from long ago,
From the days of eternity.”
Therefore He will give them up until the time
When she who is in labor has borne a child.
Then the remainder of His brethren
Will return to the sons of Israel.
And He will arise and shepherd His flock
In the strength of the Lord,
In the majesty of the name of the Lord His God.
And they will remain,
Because at that time He will be great
To the ends of the earth.
This One will be our peace.” Micah 5; 2-5
(Bethlehem birthplace)
“Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel.” Isaiah 7; 14
(God with us=Immanuel meaning, virgin birth)
Daniel 9; 24 onward pinpoints the exact timing of Messiah’s birth;
and we arrive at 0 B.C.
Ta-da!!!
The right birthplace at the right time in history = Jesus!!!

Allah says he has no sons…The God of the Bible says he has one and is proud of him…Either that is 2 different gods, or the one god is confused…
R Russell says
Confused because you do not understand the Greek of the NT.
Bible: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 [a]He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being……….John 1 v1-3
a. In the beginning the Word (Jesus) already existed.
b. The Word, Jesus was with God (the Father)
c. The Word, Jesus was God. The Greek here is not speaking of personhood but of nature, thus the Greek tells us Jesus is by nature the same as His Father. Two distinct beings sharing the one nature.
d. He Jesus was with God at the beginning ie there wasn’t a time when he didn’t exist.
e. Jesus made everything. Everything means everything, so he cannot be a created being.
I will take you now to John 16 v25-17 v5 Jesus speaking to his disciples,
“…In that day you will not question Me about anything. Truly, truly, I say to you, if you ask the Father for anything in My name, He will give it to you. 24 Until now you have asked for nothing in My name; ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be made full.
25 “These things I have spoken to you in [f]figurative language; an hour is coming when I will no longer speak to you in [g]figurative language, but will tell you plainly of the Father. 26 In that day you will ask in My name, and I do not say to you that I will request of the Father on your behalf; 27 for the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me and have believed that I came forth from the Father. 28 I came forth from the Father and have come into the world; I am leaving the world again and going to the Father.”
29 His disciples *said, “Lo, now You are speaking plainly and are not [h]using a figure of speech. 30 Now we know that You know all things, and have no need for anyone to question You; by this we believe that You came from God.” 31 Jesus answered them, “Do you now believe? 32 Behold, an hour is coming, and has already come, for you to be scattered, each to his own home, and to leave Me alone; and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me. 33 These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.”
Jesus spoke these things; and lifting up His eyes to heaven, He said, “Father, the hour has come; glorify Your Son, that the Son may glorify You, 2 even as You gave Him authority over all flesh, that to [a]all whom You have given Him, He may give eternal life. 3 This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. 4 I glorified You on the earth, [b]having accomplished the work which You have given Me to do. 5 Now, Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was.
1. Jesus spoke figuratively in the past.
2. v27,28 Jesus came forth from the Father. Greek literally came out of God, proceeded from God. Thus like toothpaste coming out of the tube, what is in the tube is the same as what is coming out of the tube, proceeded, – made of the same stuff. (all comparisons have their limitations)
3. Disciples realise Jesus is no longer speaking in the figurative language of v 25.
4. The disciples believe Jesus came out of the Father – toothpaste tube analogy .
5. Jesus offers eternal life to all. (The offer needs to be accepted.)
6. Eternal life is knowing the Father and the one who came forth from Him and sent by him. Jesus.
7. (like toothpaste out of a tube – made of the same stuff)
8. Jesus prays for the Father to glorify Jesus with the same glory which he had in heaven before his birth, and which he shared with his Father.
Since the scripture tells us that God will not share his glory with anyone else,
I am the LORD (YHWH) that is My name;
I will not give My glory to another Isaiah 42 v8
it is further proof that Jesus in sharing the same glory which is reserved for YHWH is YHWH by nature but a distinct person with both sharing the same glory not available for any other than YHWH.
Hope this helps

R Russell, Duh Swami is not confused. He is pointing out the differences between Christianity and Islam, and that they do not worship the same deity.
R Russell says
gravenimage
I know the 2 deities, Allah, and YHWH are different Gods. That was evident in my explanation of why there were not two Gods in Christianity. The God of Islam is a singular absolute deity.
The God of Christianity is a Triune God – 3 persons, 2 proceeding from the other, all of the same essence. (Let’s leave the filioque clause to one side for the moment)
When answering someone, it is best to start from where they are, not to foist a different agenda on them.
DS said he was confused. I took that at face value. I do not know why the question was asked. Was it genuine confusion, or was it a bid to further confuse? That I do not know. I chose to give an explanation of the 2 ‘Gods’ he mentioned. I left it at the ‘2 Gods’ because the Holy Spirit was not part of the initial question. If asked I could use the Greek to explain the deity of the Holy Spirit. I offered DS the Greek from which the English NT comes to point out what Christians believe.
We do not have 2 Gods, his confusion point, we have One God, in three persons. I explained how Jesus revealed to his disciples that he, Jesus literally ‘came out’ from his Father, the eternal Son, eternally proceeding from his father. His disciples knew right away that what he was saying was no longer obscured as it had been previously.
Thus if DS understands the difference and that there is ample evidence that Christians do not have 2 Gods (in the context of his confusion) he will either understand and accept it, or he will use his argument again where no one will give the correct understanding. His choice – also the choice of individual Christians to learn what I have learned so they can explain their faith to other confused ones.

Jayell says
Three things:-
1.”The British government has refused to say whether telling people about the Christian faith could be a hate crime.” Simply giving information about the elements of Christian teaching and principles alone cannot be deemed to constitute an attack of any sort on any other person or group if the subject matter just involved an exposition of Christian philosophy, and nothing else. A parallel situation in the commercial world would be to claim that a manufacturer promoting their product through purely informative advertising relating only to their own product is committing an act of libellous malpractice against rival manufacturers. This would rightly be condemned as unacceptable restrictive practice within a free market situation and one would suspect an attempt by the complainant to create a monopoly, which, of course, is acceptable. If, however, the Christian prosyletising, or the commercial advertising, involves alleged derogatory statements about rival religions (or commercial products), then these statements should be tested through due and properly informed process of law in the civil courts.
2. “Certainly the stricter Muslims do feel offended by Christianity and our belief in Jesus being the only Son of the one true God.”
Seems like a certain human group has a problem knowing its place in the scheme of things. Maybe it needs spelling out. It is the responsibility of persons living within a given national territory to acquaint themselves with laws and established social customs and mores of the group(s) that have rightful historical ownership over that territory, and to respect any and every aspect of cultural identity relating to such groups whether or not the persons concerned identify or concur with those laws or customs. To do otherwise amounts to grossly disrespectful seditious presumption, and is in any case totally and quite unacceptably anti-democratic. Persons who of their own free will, and without express invitation, travel from a foreign environment to inhabit some other group’s established territory, and take advantage of the socio-economic structures therein, have a duty to acquaint themselves of the socio-economic and cultural standards of their destination prior to their arrival in their intended new domicile and to show appropriate respect to their new hosts. In the case of the UK, persons arriving should have no excuse not to be aware that this is a Christian-based society clearly based on Christian principles with a legally established church. If their own predilections cause them to be ‘offended’ by that fact, then that is their own private matter which they should have taken into consideration before deciding to travel to the UK, and which can only be remedied by (a) accommodating the problem privately and keeping their opinions to themselves or (b) leaving the UK. British citizens, like any other indigenous group on their own patch, have no responsibility whatsoever in accommodating such unsuitable persons or their incompatible sensitivities.
3. One has right to one’s own opinions, positive or negative, on whatever or whoever. If one has proper justification, one has a right to express one’s opinions on whatever or whoever, and the object of one’s expressions, positive or negative, have a right of response. If certain individuals or groups have a problem with this basic aspect of democratic liberty, they should reflect on their choice of domicile and whether or not others in that domicile really have duty to tolerate their unacceptably intolerant presence.

Good on Malcolm Lord Pearson, Earl of Rannoch!
He has ‘form’ on Islamoresistance (it was he, and I think Baroness Caroline Cox, who invited Geert Wilders to Britain to give a talk, some years ago). Good on him for raising and pursuing this matter: bringing it out in public.
I would encourage all UK jihadwatchers to get behind him and PUSH.
First: write / email/ ring him, and let him know you are pleased that he *has* publicly asked this very necessary question. State your desire that freedom of speech and freedom of conscience be *restored* and *affirmed* and *defended* on British soil. And that means that a Christian should be free to publicly state and affirm the central tenets of Christianity – whether at a dinner table, in church, in a conversation in the street, or at Speaker’s Corner, Hyde Park – without being arrested for having offended somebody whose delicate sensibilities are upset by merely hearing someone express a viewpoint different from their own.
Then, send this article – get the ipsissima verba of the exchange, from Hansard – to your *own* elected representatives, and put *them* on the spot. Ask them the exact same question that Lord Pearson asked.
To repeat – “The question was: “Will they confirm unequivocally that a Christian who says that Jesus is the only son of the one true God cannot be arrested for hate crime or any other offence, however much it may offend a Muslim or anyone of any other religion?”
“The answer: “My Lords, I am not going to comment on that last question from the noble Lord.””
If you can, ask the question in person, face to face, when they have their ‘consult the constituents’ day. *Record* their response. Make it plain to your MP that you are deeply concerned about the equivocal answer given by the current government.

A good question to ask the zealous non-Muslim Defenders of Islam – who proliferate on social media and amongst “progressive” circles, is this: if a Muslim ‘invites’ me to convert to Islam, and I say, politely, no thanks, I’m not interested, I’m quite happy as I am… have I committed a ‘hate crime”??
Because, of course, the mere act of refusing to convert implies that whatever belief system I currently subscribe to, is *preferred*, by me, which implies that I view Islam as *inferior*… oooooh, blasphemy! Hate! Racism! Intolerance!
Has anybody tried this tack, when dealing with (non-Muslim) Defenders of Islam?

“Clarifying” hate crimes is not what is needed. The entire concept should be abolished. A crime which exists in the eye of the purported victim, or even of some third party, but which cannot otherwise be defined, verified, or defended against, has no place in justice. Lord Pearson is correct to say that there is a blatant imbalance in the way this disastrous legislation is applied, but that is to be expected, when the first reaction of the Prime Minister, the Home Secretary and the Metropolitan Police to a muslim terrorist atrocity is to voice solicitude for the welfare of muslims. When the police openly beg for supposed victims of “islamophobia” to come forward, that is the kind of fishing expedition of which the police in the UK have become inordinately fond. There are virtually never adverse consequences for liars and hoaxers.
