Instead of misleading the flock, the Pope should lead by example: welcome any and everyone into his quarters in the Vatican and give up his security guards, in a full sacrificial welcoming of all of humanity. He will never do those things, for reasons of security and self preservation, but he attempts to deny other Westerners the same right of self-protection.
The issue has never been about being unwelcoming to the stranger, but vetting the stranger.
The Islamic State, which has infiltrated the refugee stream, has already released an image of a beheaded Pope Francis, yet the Pope is still pressuring Christians to welcome any and everyone in. Christ never requested that his followers “welcome our brother and sister migrants and refugees with arms wide open,” as the Pope has called for. He instead warned his flock to be careful where they “cast pearls,” lest the recipients “turn and trample you.” That is not to call migrants “swine,” but to note that Christ counseled prudence and warned that some people can be threatening.
The Pope needs to show more compassion for the Christians who have faced genocide at the hands of Muslims in the Middle East, and for the victims (and their families) of Muslim migrant sex assaults, violent attacks and jihad murder.
US Cardinal Raymond Burke has shown far more wisdom than the Pope. Burke has “accused Westerners of being too weak to acknowledge the incompatibility of Christianity and Islam.” He has rightly warned that “Islam, through sharia, their law, will rule the world and permit violence against infidels, such as Christians. But we find it hard to recognise this reality and to respond by defending the Christian faith.”
“Pope Francis Insists Immigration Is Not a ‘Secondary Issue’ for Christians”, by Thomas D. Williams, Breitbart, April 10, 2018:
Immigration and the care of migrants should be put on the front burner and not considered a second-tier issue, Pope Francis has insisted in a new teaching letter released Monday morning in the Vatican.
In his 44-page apostolic exhortation bearing the Latin title Gaudete et Exsultate (“Rejoice and Be Glad”), the pope said that Christians have no right to treat the plight of migrants as a minor moral issue because Jesus commanded his followers to welcome the stranger.
“We often hear it said that, with respect to relativism and the flaws of our present world, the situation of migrants, for example, is a lesser issue,” Francis wrote. “Some Catholics consider it a secondary issue compared to the ‘grave’ bioethical questions.”
“That a politician looking for votes might say such a thing is understandable, but not a Christian, for whom the only proper attitude is to stand in the shoes of those brothers and sisters of ours who risk their lives to offer a future to their children,” he continued.
“Can we not realize that this is exactly what Jesus demands of us, when he tells us that in welcoming the stranger we welcome him?” he asked.
The pontiff defended his continual insistence on the issue of migration by saying it was not just his pet cause but a central teaching of the bible.
“This is not a notion invented by some Pope, or a momentary fad. In today’s world too, we are called to follow the path of spiritual wisdom proposed by the prophet Isaiah to show what is pleasing to God,” he said.
Quoting from the Old Testament books of Exodus and Leviticus, Francis said that oppressing strangers is contrary to God’s will.
In his letter, the pope does not descend to the level of practical public policy concerning immigration, and elsewhere in the text criticizes groups of Christians who “give excessive importance to certain rules, customs or ways of acting,” as if only one viewpoint were acceptable. In this regard he allows for a plurality of possible solutions under the virtue of prudence…..

Gravenimage, your statement is factually correct. However, the Vatican was obliged to issue this statement for damage control, after the huge negative public reaction upon one of the most heretical and dangerous remarks yet by Pope Francis.
So what did Francis really say? Considering that he made his remarks to his favorite interviewer, Eugenio Scalfari, the 93-year old atheist who doesn’t record interviews, no one but Francis and Scalfari will ever know. And why does the pope prefer to give interviews to an aged atheist who refuses to record interviews?
PLAUSIBLE DENIABILITY comes to mind.

Carol (the 1st) says
WHY doesn’t the pope speak for himself? Protecting Scalfari’s feelings no doubt?
Scalfari has been PF’s informal mouthpiece (beard) for unconventional views for a long time. I doubt Scalfari would misunderstand and yet manage to pull such a distinct statement out of his hat. And what motive would he have to lie? Perhaps the pope is a vacillator – employing the guilt stick when the dumb masses need to be kept in line but slipping in a little sabotage for the sake of Christian dismantlement here and there (especially when plausible denial can be shifted onto the Curio’s shoulders when the rubber hits the road).
Mortimer’s comment about RC’s “diverting their offerings” and THEN being quickly heard seems to bespeak a predilection for worship of Mammon rather than God. World banks and blackmail are an obvious explanation for this quick papal replacement. Never forget that these are the fellows who hid child abuse for a very, very long time. Help them where they are if you feel obliged (quarantine suggested), but not here. This is bequeathing our descendants CENTURIES of an endless black hole of needless violence and disturbed “monkey” business. Has our near-Utopia become invisible wallpaper to even the older generation? I suspect history will judge our virtue by how well we stand up for what we’ve achieved. It’s no time to fall asleep at the wheel.
Thanks to Islam the human race (despite initial great sacrifice) has shown itself to be eventually cowed, coerced, and then brainwashed into apparent “submission” (or “identification with the aggressor”). We could act like Pollyanna’s and hope muslims will change and have their eyes opened upon experiencing the West – and we could then hope that this could help bring about the rejection of Islam and it’s two-faced, sick doctrines – but history demonstrates that this is highly unlikely to happen as the mob-mentality called Islam systematically divides and conquers and chisels away at the “OTHER’S” remaining strength and resistance.

The devil went to Jesus in the wilderness and quoted Scripture in order to cause Jesus to sin. This pope is doing the same thing in citing the Bible in his speeches and letters; attempting to cause Christians to do as he wishes..
He pretends to speak for Christ. He pretends to be a Christian. He pretends that he has a “right” to tell Christians what is their “right” and what is not. God will Judge him for all of the people he misleads by his false words.

Whichever it may be, the Catholic church is on a downward spiral with this man in charge.
FYI says
The primary duty of any pope is in fact to represent Catholicism and Christianity and guide his flock which this false pontiff and his predecessor,The Failed shepherd(“run away” Ratzinger, benedict xvi) have completely failed to do.
Catholics have had to endure the endless heretical circus of the “Frank and Bennie show” since the last competent(and true) Pope,John Paul II died.
That fraudulent francis{the False shepherd} is a thundering disgrace and a betrayer of Catholics and Christians is pretty obvious by now except to those who wish to remain in denial:he has PROVEN himself to be a heretic(equating the Christ-rejecting moslem god allah with the Christian God) and a promoter of apostasy within the RCC(as we saw recently with his denial of hell…denying the whole point of Christ…);most folk of course will not want to know or see that. His writings are also flawed and morally questionable:many bishops and cardinals can surely see that.
Most people simply see an endearing, smiley old man who wants to be the friend of everybody(especially you notice…towards the NWO,islam..!!);but it is the falsehoods that he preaches that need to be noted, not his well-publicized Loving the Poor stunts. But one must never, ever, be fooled by EXTERNAL appearances:Mr Bergolio is putting on a good dissembling show.
If you have “eyes to see and ears to hear” then you might be able to discern that the wolf appears as a lamb and appears to roar like a dragon:note the anti-Christian comments of Mr Bergolio and his constant undermining of catholics and Catholicism.
Don’t ever be fooled by the outward show of piety and smiley friendliness!
Mr Bergolio is preparing the way for the one referred to in 2 Thess 2 who should be making his appearance….. soon. Most will not want to know or see this.Ignore it if you wish but it WILL become more and more obvious to Catholics and Christians that the “smoke of satan” is at work at the top of the RCC in Rome as Popes Paul VI,John Paul 1,John Paul 2 knew about.
All the more reason however,if you are a catholic…to KEEP your faith:but do not trust Mr Bergolio or Rome.Yes,if catholic, you should still strive to keep (what remains of) the catholic faith:see Matthew chpt 25

Pope insists accepting migrants should be a primary issue for Christians
………………
Did Jesus ever demand that we open the gates to ravening invaders? Not that I can recall…
Carol (the 1st) says
Jesus seemed to suggest that we help the distressed, even when this conflicted with traditional man-made rules such as “don’t work on the Sabbath”. He did not make a “graven image” of form.
Jesus also advised “Let them alone: they are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.”
These two examples suggest to me that natural, warranted compassion for others invariably holds highest ground, but when folly attempts to be “king of the castle” and it conflicts with our sense of what is naturally right and good, then we are not to browbeat, but to part ways without any unwarranted guilt or malice. The blind will eventually find some figurative light and climb out of the ditch all by themselves.
Any migrant that comes to our countries wishing to do damage is an ingrate and has overstayed their welcome. The Pope fails to appreciate the worth of “parting ways”.
Flavius Claudius Iulianus says
I think the source of the chronic, widespread, long-term corruption in the church is the implicit blackmail that catholic clerics hold over other catholic clerics. Let me explain: celibacy is not optional for the priesthood in the catholic church. (There are more and more non-celibates being let in, and this a good thing, but it is still rare.) And despite this universal acceptance that priests and nuns are to be celibate, it has been proven by Richard Sipe (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Sipe) that this is not the case. He has found that, “more than half [of catholic priests] were involved in sexual relationships.” When he says ‘sexual relationship’ he is not specifically referring to any one sexual orientation (heterosexual, homosexual, pedophilia, etc.). So about 50% of catholic priests, according to his research, are “not as advertized.” This makes these individuals susceptible to a blackmail of silence. It makes them think twice about speaking out about others in the priesthood since they know that they could be ‘uncovered’ in retaliation.
Sipe also states that priests are actually selected in the seminaries to be those individuals who don’t tend to speak up about wrongdoing.
So this is why pedophiles are able to hide within ranks of the catholic church. (He estimates that pedophiles account for about 6% of all catholic priests.) These pedophiles are probably protected by the fact that ~50% of the other priests also have a dirty secret. So corruption, in an environment of secrecy, flourishes.
Sipe says that the only way to rid the church of this conspiracy of silence, this culture that is conducive to corruption, is to make celibacy optional. (He also states that the environment within the seminaries fosters sexual immaturity in men being trained for the priesthood.) I agree with him.
Postscriptum: In the light of Sipe’s research, the theory that Benedict was forced out, has a lot more credence.

So the pope doesn’t want Christians to love the Lord our God with all our heart, with all our soul, with all our mind and with all your strength (Probably got those in the wrong order) and out neighbour as ourselves? The commandment is not to love others more than ourselves and if I believe my life will be at risk from the migrants (and I believe there is sufficient evidence to believe so) then I will not allow myself to be bullied by them. That is healthy self-love. Not the dhimmitude the pope wants from us.

Pope Francis is under pressure, and is responding by doubling down and revealing his true face. His social justice agenda and pro-unlimited mass Muslim migration advocacy is now officially more important to him than protecting the lives of millions of innocent, unborn children. He is happy to sacrifice millions of babies to achieve his dream of destroying the developed world. That’s double destruction.
This last piece of evidence proves to me once and for all that Francis is a communist at heart. Individual lives mean little or nothing to communists. The arrogant presumption of their ability to usher in a utopian dream of forced equality, at the cost of untold deaths and suffering, boggles the mind. It’s pure evil.
This excerpt from a Catholic website sums it up:
ANALYSIS
April 9, 2018 (LifeSiteNews) – Writing this morning that abortion and issues like immigration have moral equivalence, Pope Francis deviated from a principle his predecessors have taught for centuries: abortion is today’s most pressing and grave human rights abuse.
Pope Francis wrote in this in his new apostolic exhortation Gaudete et Exsultate (“Rejoice and Be Glad”), wherein he decried the understanding of migration as an issue “secondary” to “‘grave’ bioethical questions.”
Throughout the history of the Church, popes have strongly denounced abortion as a very serious sin and outlined what the Church’s response to it ought to be. The suggestion that stopping the murder of innocent human babies is just as important as helping the “situation of migrants” differs from previous papal teachings, in which popes like St. John Paul II asserted that the right to life is the most basic and primary of all.

JM says
Correction:
Although Pope Francis apparently stated that abortion and migrant issues are equally important. That’s bad enough (in the past, abortion was the top issue). But despite his attempted lip service to defending unborn human life, the pope’s true objective is obvious from his obsessive focus on migrants and acceptance of Islam.
And just a few months ago the Vatican gave an award to an abortion advocate. Pope Francis did his usual duck and weave to deflect criticism. But it was clear that he was aware of the whole thing, so at least complicit in this sordid affair.
This pope is not as stupid as he seems. He’s more like a chess player, looking several moves ahead.
In this case he demotes the abortion issue by putting it on a par with migration/social justice. But his true intention is to relegate abortion to the back seat, as it were. He’s doing a fine job of that. And the secular world loves him for it.

*Christian* refugees – Christians like the Iraqi and Syrian Christians, many of them *fellow-Catholics* – and persecuted Christians such as Asia Bibi (another Catholic!) in Pakistan – are the people that this Pope should be speaking up about, front and centre, seven times a day.
He could be turning on the heat; he could be pestering western-country leaders to put the screws on countries such as Pakistan re their gross abuses of the human rights of non-Islamic indigenous minorities, both Christian and other; he could be arranging a papal visit to Pakistan and, once there, *demanding* to be allowed to pay a pastoral visit to Asia Bibi, to take her the Eucharist (and then he could make a *huge* noise, when the vicious Pakistani authorities told him he *couldn’t* visit her).
He could be telling all western and some non-western majority-Christian countries to get on board with Barnabas Fund’s ‘Operation Safe Havens’ which is *specifically* focused on offering refuge to **bona fide Christian refugees**, such as the aforementioned Syrian and Iraqi Catholics.
Those are some of the things he could do.
But he isn’t.
Shameful.

To: dumbledoresarmy
You’re absolutely correct. Asia Bibi’s plight is heart-breaking and should galvanize the pope into action. Yes, he did meet with members of her family, but they had to come to Rome. And even then, he apparently only had a brief meeting with them, and behind closed doors, and that was the end of that, it seems. Are my facts correct? If so, it’s a monstrous injustice.
And Francis still has not answered the letter he received from 3,000 converts to Christianity from Islam, which asked him to explain why they should have risked their lives if, as he says, Islam is as good as Christianity. He could start by answering their reasonable request for clarification.
Next, Francis should actually read the Islamic texts. And then he should meet again with Ahmed Muhammad Ahmed el-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of al-Azhar University, who the pope proudly claims as his interfaith partner, and who has assured the pope that Islam is peace. And on this occasion, Francis should ask some hard and pointed questions. The Grand Imam is a notorious anti-semite, for example. Robert Spencer wrote an article on him on JW a few weeks ago, where the Imam reveals his conviction that Jews are the reason for the trouble and chaos in the Muslim world. That’s quite the stellar interfaith partner Pope Francis has there.

1 in 6 people in America face hunger. The USDA defines “food insecurity” as the lack of access, at times, to enough food for all household members. In 2011, households with children reported a significantly higher food insecurity rate than households without children: 20.6% vs. 12.2%. Food insecurity exists in every county in America. In 2013, 17.5 million households were food insecure.
Since Islam reared its ugly head in 2001 (big time)—the American social fabric of a people who once felt relatively free and unhindered, has been severely damaged— huge expenditures for wars and security, have severely damaged the economy—-huge imposition on human dignity has been placed on all by action that have not addressed
the problem—Islam.
The everyone is the same philosophy has poisoned any real effort to address this.
Now is not the time to show our magnanimous side to those who mean us no good.

To paraphrase John Kennedy: “Ask not what our country can do for you; ask what you can do for our country.” (and if said country perceives your intentions, mores, behavior, and sense of entitlement as *bad*, then do the world a favor and stay home in your very own rat trap).

First, Christians have already been very generous to the “have-nots”, whether they are Christian or not. What have Muslims in Saudi Arabia and the oil-rich Gulf states done to help their own Muslim brothers and sisters?
Second, the current wave of mass migration is unlike anything in history. The developed world is not getting people who want to work and integrate for a better life, as in previous waves. What it’s getting is mainly uneducated, unskilled, unqualified, yet aggressive, resentful, and entitled young Muslim men who are waging migration jihad, while bleeding the welfare state dry. It’s clearly an invasion by another name. What the globalists are aiming for is a breakdown of social and economic order in the West. Muslim migrants and “refugees” are their shock troops.
Third, even if these “have-nots” were qualified, motivated to work, contribute, learn the language, respect the host culture, instead of seeking to spread Islam, unlimited mass migration still wouldn’t work in the medium to long term. For one thing, the very menial jobs that these people are qualified to do will soon be rendered obsolete by automation. The enormous social and economic burden would transform developed countries into yet another Third World zone.
As regards genuine refugees (not economic migrants), the money spent to host them in the developed world is between 12 and 25 times less effective than if spent to help them in their own countries, or nearby. Politicians and NGO’s almost never mention this important fact. If truly helping genuine refugees is the goal, then helping them where they live is the solution. Unfortunately, the true goal is population replacement in the non-Muslim developed world.
The best way for the developed world to help the 6 billion plus “have-nots” is to encourage political, social, and economic reform in their countries.
Being Christian means many things. What is does not mean is rolling over and playing dead when faced with an existential threat. Islam is the ideal example of such a threat, in large part because it is anti-Christian by definition.

If Muslims were willing to assimilate, work, and learn, then even their being often uneducated would not be more than a temporary impediment to their becoming good contributing citizens. But most of them have no intention of doing any of these things.
JM says
That’s absolutely right, gravenimage, at least regarding the current wave of migrants. But in previous generations the idea of migrating to Europe was to work, and even most of the Muslims knew and respected that. Something very different is going on since 2015. And whatever it is, it doesn’t bode well for the “infidel” in Europe.
Jan says
I’m sure the old senile fool has a few rooms in his holy city that he can stuff with those poor immigrants. I’m sure they will be delighted sharing a 5star meal with him everyday and be eternally grateful to him as their brethren are to the indigenous people over Europe for the hospitality offered to them !!

Why are all the people fleeing the Islamic countries if Islam is such a wonderful religion? I do not believe the Pope is a holy man.
RiaD says
The issue of migration is a central teaching in the Bible? Pope Francis obviously hasn’t read the Bible. But then, that was clear before.
Carolyne says
One of the things I greatly resent about the Pope and his ilk is his considering me to be a mindless sheep who cannot function without some kind of overlord. I am not a sheep and I refuse to have a shepard. He is no more qualified to be my leader than a tablelamp or other inanimate object. To live in absolute splendor while telling people who struggle to work and raise a decent family to take in those who wish to kill him and his family is obscene in itself.
If there were a devil, a concept in which I do not believe, this man would be his representative.

Is the Pope Catholic?
JM says
Although I cannot find the proof, Vladimir Putin apparently had this to say about Pope Francis:
“If you look around at what he (the Pope) says it’s clear that he is not a man of God. At least not the Christian God, not the God of the Bible.”

Matthieu Baudin says
Pope Francis is a troubling figure on the international stage; a pontiff who has shown little compassion for the extreme persecution of Christians, religious minorities and nonbelievers in the Muslim world. He has demonstrated a stubborn unwillingness to explore the roots of traditional Islamic violence and has placed the Vatican leadership on a collision course with those branches of the church that have made the effort to understand the most pressing issues of the current era. The Polish Catholic Church is one of several chapters whose continued loyalty is being severely tested.

I was baptised as a catholic. Served the mass for 9 years. Read the Bible, particularly the New Testament. I do not go to the chuch anymore since the 60s. I do not support
the Pope. I prefer Mr. Spencer. And all my friends here. The US is stronger against the ennemy. All the canadian politicians who support multiculturalism and let the jihadis come back are kind of criminals. In those days, believe it or not, some words from Christ
are coming back in my mind. They are really printed in my soul.
Excuse my English.
