A fake narrative put Officer Noor in a real job. My latest in PJ Media:
MPR News reported last week that “attorneys for former Minneapolis police officer Mohamed Noor filed a court document Wednesday saying that the officer intends to plead not guilty on charges filed against him in the shooting death of Justine Ruszczyk last July.” The document Noor’s attorneys filed “states that Noor intends to rely on defenses at trial that include arguing that he’s not guilty, that it was self-defense and that it was a reasonable use of force.”
Justine Ruszczyk called 911 in Minneapolis in July 2017 to report what she thought might be a rape. When police arrived, she approached the police car, and Noor shot her dead. Afterwards, Noor refused for months to be interviewed by investigators, although he spoke to friends about what happened and why. The more Noor and those who know him spoke, the more it became clear: he didn’t act in self-defense, contrary to his present claim. Justine Ruszczyk was a casualty of “Islamophobia.”
Mohamed Noor is a Somali Muslim. He was the first Somali Muslim on the Minneapolis police force. In 2016, Minneapolis Mayor Betsy Hodges expressed her excitement about that fact: “I want to take a moment to recognize Officer Mohamed Noor, the newest Somali officer in the Minneapolis Police Department. Officer Noor has been assigned to the 5th Precinct, where his arrival has been highly celebrated, particularly by the Somali community in and around Karmel Mall.”
Hodges wasn’t excited because Mohamed Noor had the skills necessary to become a fine police officer. She was only excited because he represented a religious and ethnic group that she was anxious to court. And it became increasingly clear — as we learned about Mohamed Noor’s nervousness and jumpiness and lack of respect for women, and from his own account of events that he relayed to friends (that he was “startled” and reacted by opening fire) — that Mohamed Noor was not cut out to be a policeman. He did not have the temperament for it, and if he hadn’t killed Justine Ruszczyk, he would likely have done something similar at some point.
So why was he on the force at all? Because he was the first Somali Muslim on the Minneapolis police force. He was a symbol of our glorious multicultural mosaic. He was a rebuke to “Islamophobes” and proof that what they say is false. Minneapolis authorities placed a great deal of faith in Mohamed Noor. He was for them the triumph of diversity, the victory of their worldview. But he has let them down.
Mohamed Noor is not a jihad terrorist. This was not a jihad attack. He is just a trigger-happy, panicky, reckless individual who held his job not because he was fit for it, but because of what he symbolized.
In the wake of his failure, Minneapolis multiculturalists made no effort to reconsider the errors of judgment that led to Noor being hired as a policeman in the first place. On the contrary, they doubled down.
Minneapolis Mayor Betsy Hodges immediately recognized — as authorities do everywhere after jihad attacks — that the real victim was not the woman who was killed, but the Muslim community. She should have issued a statement saying that she recognized that Mohamed Noor was not hired because he was competent, but because he was a Somali Muslim, and that she sees now that Leftist social engineering on the police force costs lives. She should have promised that from now on, police officers will be hired based on their fitness for the job, not their religion or ethnicity.
Instead, this, from Hodges’ Facebook page:
To the Somali community: I want you to know that you are a valued and appreciated part of Minneapolis. I stand with you and support you. The strength and beauty of the Somali and East African communities are a vital part of what makes Minneapolis so strong and beautiful. I am grateful to be your neighbor.
This week a Somali police officer, Officer Mohamed Noor, shot and killed a woman under circumstances we don’t yet comprehend. Justine Damond’s death was tragic
and awful for everyone. And I want to be very clear that Officer Noor, a fully trained officer in the Minneapolis Police Department, won’t be treated differently than any other officer.
Justine’s death is a tragedy for our city. We cannot compound that tragedy by turning to racism, xenophobia, and Islamophobia. It is unjust and ridiculous to assert that an entire community be held responsible for the actions of one person. That will not be tolerated in Minneapolis. If you are experiencing discrimination, you can file a complaint at http://www.minneapolismn.gov/civil…/discrimination-complaint.
Mayor Hodges saw her primary duties right after the killing of Justine Ruszczyk to be reassuring Muslims and warning against “Islamophobia” — as if a non-Muslim officer had shot an unarmed Muslim woman….

Can the victim (if alive) of the alleged sexual assault that occurring in the alley that prompted Justine’s 911 call please talk to police??? Or my other theory is that a male neighbor was probably watching a violent movie or porn with a rape scene with the volume up and the window open (it was summertime) which was mistaken by Justine; the male neighbor is too embarrassed to admit that his TV viewing habits were the cause of all this tragedy. Regardless, the officer was in the wrong.

I haven’t heard *anything* about the originally reported crime.
That Noor shot a woman who came up to the patrol car in the case of a reported possible rape is especially egregious, since it would have been possible that such a woman was the rape victim looking for police protection.
Of course, what happened is as bad or worse–but I’m saying that it is especially bizarre that he would have been startled by a woman rushing up to the police car in such a situation.
SweetOlBob says
Noor isn’t the only one that should be charged ! The Mayor, the Chief of Police, and anyone who had anything to do with the criminal “Coexist” bullsh*t that led to Noor being on the police force in the first place are all complicit in an innocent woman’s death !
All for some warm, fuzzy feeling of pushing a Somali into a place he never should have been in. Somali or not, NO MUSLIM should ever be in a position of power. It is impossible for them to b fair to everyone and still follow the commands of their dirty book !
EnolaGay says
And?? Donovan? So what , has nothing to do with this woman’s murder.
Donovan Nuera says
I am saying that maybe if a woman victim of the sexual assault was there, she could be an eye-witness for the plaintiff against the officer. That’s all.
Carolyne says
Quite an imagination you have there, Donovan.
Roderick MacUalraig says
You’re right… wow. Sick scenario laid out there.
Donovan Nuera says
I have police friends who sometimes get called by people reporting what they think are fights or domestic fights at night in adjacent residences and it turns out to be a loud TV. But if a woman was being assaulted in the back alley area, if she was found to be alive, could she give eye witness testimony as the cops did not have body cameras on for some reason. Plus the whole point of Justine dialing 911 was to potentially rescue a poor lady or girl. It seems extra sad if she was not only viciously shot by an idiot but also the whole reason for her call for police will never be solved.
gordon miller says
What exactly did this woman do to justify being shot?
SweetOlBob says
What exactly did that Somali muslim do to justify being on the police force ?

“…. It is unjust and ridiculous to assert that an entire community be held responsible for the actions of one person. That will not be tolerated in Minneapolis….”
———————————————————————————————-
Did anyone ever in fact assert any such thing, or was Hodges just jumping in to add insult to injury by pre-emptively slurring the non-muslim population of Minneapolis ?
Shmoovie says
“Did anyone ever assert any such thing…”
Agreed. Did the phobia complaint line light up with new reports following this shooting? Certainly the media would have been looking for it.
gravenimage says
Nope–no one said any such thing.
This kind of thing is grimly typical, though.
Westman says
Let’s face it – they hired a “Barney Fife” to represent a segment of the community and the result was manifest in a tragedy.
Carolyne says
No, Barney Fyfe meant well. This man is a malevolent, inhumane misogynist.
gravenimage says
Spot on, Carolyne.
tedh754 says
The left sure doesn’t have any trouble condemning all those who voted against Hillary. That’s one community that everyone is allowed to hate.
Shmoovie says
This statement is NAUSEATING.
Hodges shouting out to the Somali community: the shooting was really a tragedy for them, and the beautiful inclusive multi-culti city. It was “awful for everyone”– but especially so for Somalis.
She knows which side her bread is buttered so makes this “statement” into a PSA against an oncoming (non-existent) backlash by ‘phobes, complete with email for true ‘victims’.
Heartless, phoney garbage.

Robert Spencer in PJ Media: Unarmed Woman Shot by Muslim Cop Was Killed by Islamophobia
…………………………..
Islamophobia, huh? More like Islamophilia. This guy should never have been on any police force.
And for Noor to claim that he was acting *in self defence”–as an armed and trained male police officer dealing with an unarmed civilian woman reporting a crime–is absolutely grotesque and calumny against the victim.
At most he believed he was acting in self defence at the time because he was startled–and was clearly mistaken in the most marked way possible.
mortimer says
Islamophobia = any resistance to jihad.
Jihad = aggression

Spot on. Mortimer.

Now I may not understand the intricacies of United States law, but it seems to me that even a half-decent Prosecutor should be able to use Noor’s own defense against him.
“Noor intends to rely on defenses at trial that include arguing that he’s not guilty, that it was self-defense and that it was a reasonable use of force.””
Because I’d love to see Noor and his legal team explain their way out of how his actions were resulting from self defense and that he used reasonable force.
Tell me how it is ‘self defense’ when an unarmed woman, wearing pajamas, approached the car that night, gesticulating that she required assistance, whilst not behaving aggressively or suspiciously in any way whatsoever. And when Noor was a Cop, had back-up sitting right next to him, in a vehicle with doors they could lock in a heartbeat, surrounded by a large variety of weaponry that could have been used to subdue – if the need arose, rather than slaughter. How is it self defense to shoot THROUGH the car door?
Then follow that up with how in hell is it considered ‘reasonable force’ to SHOOT someone who in no way posed a threat to you or your partner’s safety? And not only did he shoot the poor woman, but he
I hope the filthy little prick takes the stand and I hope with every fibre of my being that the Prosecutor goes to town and annihilates the inbred, savage, primitive little murderer in front of the Judge and Jury.
Noor should never have been a Cop. That much is clear. If I were the Damond family, I would be using the absolute pants off the city, for hiring that murderer, to begin with, simply so as to fulfil a racist policy of ‘diversity’. Justine Damond was gunned down brutally, unarmed and in her pajamas, in the dead of the night, by a Cop who was completely safe and protected the entire time – he was in no way sufficiently competent to be given the incredible responsibility and authority that being an officer of the law, afforded him.
And let’s not forget that on the night of Justines’s brutal murder, the two Cops, Harrity and Noor, who were seated safely and securely inside the vehicle, did not switch on their vest cameras as they were required to do so. That speaks bloody volumes to me.
Sarah says
“If I were the Damond family, I would be using the absolute pants off the city,”
I meant to say ‘suing the absolute pants off the city’. An Autocorrect issue!

Instead, it just turned out to be further evidence for ‘islamophobia’ in the sense that those who don’t trust muslims are right.
Linda says
It should be required that the applicant for the position of police officer or any other position of authority has an understanding of the constitution, history, laws and culture of the country they apply to work in. Never mind other countries, laws and cultures. If this Somali was so afraid of a woman in pyjamas running up to the police car, he should never have been a police officer in the first place. I do not know why that is so hard for some people to understand.
Rarely says
What an insulting wingnut!! She ASSUMES that the non-African non-muslim community would blame that community for this officer’s incompetence and act accordingly. How insulting.
Clearly those who sent an unqualified cop out into public with a loaded gun bear some direct blame in addition to the vicarious responsibility. It almost assuredly would end badly. She’s also insulting the professionalism of the police.
Kasey says
Just have a look in The Koran at all the lethal anti-Infidel verses that Noor would have been indoctrinated with,(as are all Muslims), not to wonder then, if he was a closet jihadist of some sort, and saw an opportunity to act out one of Allah’s commands.
To dismiss such a scenario is lunacy and an injustice to her.
Last year in Australia we had three Muslims go out of their way to commit mass murder, yet they all may get away with it by pleading some form of Islamic insanity, as one has already done.
In the Noor case, there was no frenzied attack but just a calculated risk action, which he obviously took when the opportunity occurred, Get real about many Muslims’ logic…..always the victims but never the cause in any incident in The West.
Islamophobia? ……….No, just an awareness of Islamoreality!
Max says
Betsy Hodges is just as guilty as this incompetent Muslim policeman. Her political correctness cost a life and God knows how the family of the victim is coping. It is obvious that this guy either didn’t have a clue as to what is done in this circumstances or worse he acted maliciously. How many people have to die due to PC before common sense prevails?
Linda says
I will be very interested to hear what the other police officer thinks should he testify in court.
seabird says
If Noor makes a plea deal, there won’t be a trial.
We’ll never know why the cameras were turned off, what the other officer saw or why Noor felt compelled to shoot Justine not once but 3 times.
You can expect banana republic justice in that City and why that case should be referred to the Dept of Justice for a full investigation.
Carolyne says
Somalis are the worst of the worst and that’s really bad. No Somali should be in this country, much less given a gun and carte blanch to shoot unarmed female civilians. I suppose this kind of thing is allowed in Somali by Allah and his evil book, but this so-called man was not civilized enough to even be allowed entry here, much less made an officer of the law. I hope the time comes when Americans realize what they have done by allowing these animals safe harbor here to the danger of real Americans and real humans.
Alan says
” The strength and beauty of the Somali and East African communities are a vital part of what makes Minneapolis so strong and beautiful.”
Yup . . . boy, I don’t know how Minneapolis survived and thrived for hundreds of years without those VITAL moslems!! I guess if killing Infidels is considered ‘making Minneapolis strong and beautiful,’ this IdiotLibTraitor’s (the Mayor’s) statement is true!

Good post.

The average Somali IQ is 68. From what I’ve researched, a person that has a 68 IQ is smarter than only 2% of people. In other words, for every 100 people, an average Somali is smarter than 2 people and 97 people are smarter than him/her. This idiot should be found guilty and the city should be sued. I have a feeling that the spineless people in Minneapolis will let this guy off because they are afraid of the backlash from the Somali community (rioting, arson, etc.). Then, it would not fit the narrative that every immigrant comes to this country to work (jobs Americans won’t) and follow the law.
Chantal says
There will be nothing to debate. He can plead not guilty all he wants. If there was such a threat as he is trying to imply with his lie, the other policeman would have taken his gun out too. The other policeman DID NOT, so obviously there was NO threat. There is a witness to the killing of a civilian, A MOST RELIABLE WITNESS, A POLICEMAN. And this somalian policeman had the worst judgment? He could not, since HE WAS EVALUATED THOROUGHLY for his judgment to become a policeman. All I can see is NOT a policeman who respects and understands his duty towards the public but a SOMALIAN WHO HATES WOMEN, SPECIALLY NON MUSLIM WHITE WOMEN. He took this opportunity to do his evil act. his PUNISHMENT should be of the highest order: first degree murder and hate crime. Condemn him to the extent of his crime!
Giacomo Latta says
So the mayor incorporates the word ‘Islamophobia.’ Then she must be proud of Islam. So once she has hurriedly hired another Muslim cop, is he or she to apply the mayor’s beloved sharia law when encountering a wife-beating or is he expected to apply the laws adopted by various legislatures?
SweetOlBob says
She loves filthy muslims and ill educated Somalis so much, I wondr how long it will be before she presents herself for a little feminine muslim mutilation.
How about it Mayor ?
