“Radha Stirling, Detained in Dubai’s chief executive, said it is ‘wholly illegal for any tourist to have any level of alcohol in their blood, even if consumed in flight and provided by Dubai’s own airline.'”
That sounds like a Sharia trap just waiting to be sprung.
“Mom detained in Dubai after drinking complimentary glass of wine on Emirates flight,” by Kathleen Joyce, Fox News, August 10, 2018:
Ellie Holman said she was detained along with her daughter after drinking a glass of wine on an Emirates flight to Dubai.
A mother from Kent, England, and her young daughter were jailed in Dubai for three days – where she was allegedly denied water and forced to clean toilets – after she admitted to drinking a glass of wine on the incoming Emirates flight from London, but Dubai officials have a different side of the story.
It’s illegal to drink alcohol or be intoxicated in public in Dubai, one of the seven emirates of the United Arab Emirates.
Ellie Holman, a 44-year-old dentist originally from Sweden who resides in Britain with her husband and their three children, was arrested on July 13 after landing in Dubai with her 4-year-old daughter, the Press Association reported.
Upon arrival in Dubai, an official reportedly told Holman she needed to return to the United Kingdom immediately because of an invalid visa, at which point she took out her phone and started filming the encounter, according to human rights group Detained in Dubai.
Holman said the official was “dismissive and rude” to her, and asked if she had been consuming alcohol. She admitted to the official that she had a complimentary glass of wine on the Emirates flight.
Holman, unaware that it was an offense to film the encounter, and illegal to drink alcohol, was taken into custody, Detained in Dubai reported. The mother and her daughter also had their passports and electronic devices confiscated.
Holman said in a statement to Detained in Dubai that the prison guards also attempted to pull out her hair extensions, and the prison facility was “hot and foul-smelling.” She claimed she and her daughter were forced to sleep on a “filthy mattress” and to clean toilets.
“My little girl had to go to the toilet on the cell floor. I have never heard her cry in the same way as she did in that cell,” Holman said in a statement.
Holman added that she was given food that “smelled like rotting garbage.” She said her husband and friends tried to visit her in jail, but they were not allowed to see her.
Holman was released on bail days later, but could face “being detained in Dubai for up to a year while awaiting a court hearing,” the Press Association reported. Her passport was confiscated until the case is finished, and she claims to have already lost thousands of dollars in missed wages and legal costs….
Radha Stirling, Detained in Dubai’s chief executive, said it is “wholly illegal for any tourist to have any level of alcohol in their blood, even if consumed in flight and provided by Dubai’s own airline. It is illegal to consume alcohol at a bar, a hotel and a restaurant, and if breathalyzed, that person will be jailed.”…

It’s an excuse to justify to foreign powers (who will alway tolerate it) the abuse of someone, and an infidel female at that. She was filming the authorities which would be slanderous under the Islamic definition of the term. Making it known to others what the Emirati authorities don’t want others to know about themselves is what would be illegal. She also got uppity and they have to get her mind right. She actually got off pretty luck considering.
Nancy says
Not really.. They said she may have to stay there a year until court.. Not easy. It is just not safe to travel to Muslim countries.. They hate us infidels. But you are right. She was a little too uppity but that is because we are use to having freedom of speech etc. Even our freedom is being taken away..I don’t believe that Shari should have that much power over us or anyone..
PRCS says
That was my thought, too, Cunamarra.
IMO, as the airline does serve alcohol to passengers enroute to Dubaii—that wasn’t the issue.
Per the article, it started as a visa issue. I suspect she became frustrated, then angry, and “got uppity”.
Unfortunate, of course, but there are many tourist horror stories from there.
Frank Anderson says
So, what do you expect: Courtesy? Hospitality? Fairness? From any muslim? Dumb works as an “excuse” only so far. As any Jew in Germany after 1939.
gravenimage says
You are quite right that some Jews were still in denial in 1939, Frank–but others wanted to get out and either lacked the means or had nowhere that would grant them asylum.
And some–like Ann Frank’s family, did get out of Germany but did not go far away enough.
I very much agree that no one with any sense goes to Dar-al-Islam.
Frank Anderson says
GI, I believe you know where my sympathy lies with all things Jewish. In many cases, especially now, I seem to wish better for Jews than the US Jewish community in general seems to wish for itself. Where Hitler started with his first public speech approximately August, 1920, to proclaim hatred for Jews that was “out of the blue” considering his previous Jewish relations, his proclamations and actions were ignored until it was too late. Islam has proclaimed the goals of hatred and extermination of Jews for more or less 1400 years, and those goals are still denied, when they are considered. Truly, we have exchanged many times on the wisdom of Jorge Santayana, “Those who cannot remember the lessons of the past are condemned to repeat them.” From this story the wisdom applies both to individuals and communities. When will more people learn? I received my 2 copies of RS’s book-1 for my reading and 1 to pass around to friends, who will read it. Next is the Dawood koran.
gravenimage says
All true, Frank–sadly, many Jews did indeed remain in denial, unable to believe that this could happen in such a civilized nation as Germany.
I had hoped to buy my copy of the “History of Jihad” from my local independent bookstore–but they are not carrying it, and said that they cannot order it–this, a store that brags that they can order any book in print, and many that are out of print.
I’m pretty disgusted, and will be ordering the book on-line instead.
Good luck to you with finding that edition of the Qur’an–it should be pretty easy to find.

Many Jews fled Germany as early as 1933 when Hitler came to power and many more tried but had no place to go. Shanghai took more Jewish refugees than Canada. The US didn’t do much better. Quotas were ridiculously low. In 1939 the MS St. Louis, full of Jewish refugees, was refused entry to Canada, the US and Cuba forcing it to return to Hamburg. The British heavily restricted immigration to Palestine There was no escaping from the anti-Semitism. At the time few people imagined the “Final Solution” especially since in 1939 it had not yet been planned. “Resettlement” camps were created and the Jews remaining in Europe had very few options.
For the most part “denial” was not the issue. Having no place to go was. Remember that the Jews in Germany were as integrated as they are in Canada and the US today.
Today Jews have Israel.
Frank Anderson says
Rarely, over more than 20 years I have attended many memorial/remembrance services and recorded a large number of survivors in addition to reading and watching many accounts. I cannot understand how half of Germany’s Jews refused to listen until it was too late. According to one TV account, Hitler’s Conspirators, episode Jews who Fought for Hitler, 100,000 quarter-, half- and full Jews fought for Hitler in most of the services involved in combat. Now I cannot understand how “liberal” US Jews are so deliberately ignorant of Islam’s teaching and hatred of Jews that they refuse to hear of it and exclude anyone who dares to discuss it. Perhaps you have some ideas or suggestions?
gravenimage says
True, Rarely–save that some of the passengers from the St. Louis were later taken in by Britain, the Netherlands, and Belgium.
Of course, those in the latter two groups would shortly be threatened again as Nazi Germany invaded.
It was clear that many Jews who saw the need to get out and wanted to do so were unable to flee.
gravenimage says
Frank, I know that some Jews who served in the military thought it would protect their relatives. In the end, of course, this was a vain hope.

GI, one of the great writings of Maimonides collected and ranked the 613 rules/commandments/Mitzvot in the Torah (first 5 books of the Bible/Tanakh). Rule Number One comes from “let there be Life” says that “ALL rules bend as necessary for the preservation of life.” How many people have been forced in 1400 years to serve in killing and conquering for islam? How many more? I would not want to be trapped into that decision then or now. Also from another teaching I wish for others that which I wish for myself, or better.
Rarely says
Frank Anderson
I didn’t see the program, “Jews who fought for hitler”, so I can’t comment on it. I am somewhat skeptical of the numbers however. Between 1933-39 approx. 320,000 of Germany’s 520,000 Jews were able to escape Germany. Many didn’t go far enough (e.g. Anne Frank’s family). On how many of the remaining 200,000 had no place to go but tried one can only speculate. People who were 1/4 or even 1/2 Jewish may not even have viewed themselves as Jewish and may not have felt any risk.
Anti-Semitism is a strange thing. After hundreds of years of living in Germany and seeing yourself as totally German it would be not only shocking but totally unexpected to find lifelong non-Jewish German friends turning violently against you. I repeat : there was no where to go, especially once the situation became clear.
Blinders and wishful thinking in some cases? Certainly but willing collaboration on any scale reaching 100,000? Inconceivable!
What to do today in Canada and the US? Topic for another day.
Frank Anderson says
Rarely, this subject is too important to me to make anything up. I generally record any tv programs concerning WWII, including this series. To make sure I was not creating any number, I went back and reviewed the particular episode. The obvious (I hope) point of my references to this era is my “pitiful” effort to get people to recognize the parallel between then and now. It is not at all that I am passing judgment. It is that I want people to see what denial and delusion can bring about. Different sources estimate different numbers’ but the result is the same-some just did not get the message until it was too late to act.
gravenimage says
I actually agree with you both here, Frank and Rarely. A lot of Jewish people *were* in denial; even when they reached the camps they were convinced that they were “just” labor camps, and that Germany needed their labor too much to otherwise harm them.
In the same way, many saw the Holocaust initially as “just” another pogrom like in Poland or Russia–dangerous and ugly, but something they could probably weather if they kept their head’s down.
And, as Rarely notes, there were many Jews–either who were part Gentile or else entirely secular–who did not even think of themselves as particularly Jewish. There were even those who did not know they had a Jewish background at all.
And there were also those who did try to get out, but were unable to. Some were captured trying to escape; some were turned back.
And I certainly agree with Frank’s main point–that we not underestimate the danger we face from Islam, as many–even most–Infidels are certainly doing. Certainly, the woman in the story above is one of those. I would never travel on an Islamic airline to an Islamic country–and if I ever had to would know enough to steer clear of any alcohol.
I consider myself pretty savvy about the threat of Islam, but sometimes even I am shocked by how overt it is–a couple of recent cases have been the attack on the police station in Rinksby in Sweden, and the mob attack on people in a park in Lewiston, Maine.
It is not that I am shocked by how violent Muslims are–just shocked that they are so emboldened as to act so blatantly. And I know that if I am shocked by such things that many will find them completely unbelievable.
This in itself is very, very dangerous.
Frank Anderson says
GI, one of my un-numbered mothers-by-choice, who is no longer living, was Jewish. It is in large part because of her guidance that I have learned what I know on the subjects. For all my efforts, I am not considered Jewish by other Jews, and accept the reality of their decision. In spite of what anyone else thinks my sympathy and support goes to the wisdom I learned in their company.
SS member number 2 was Emil Maurice. Member number 1 was Hitler. Maurice applied for permission to get married and disclosed one of his grandparents was Jewish, making him a quarter-Jew. When the Nazi’s deliberated who is a Jew and who is not, they looked to US laws concerning who is black and not. Under US law one drop of black blood made one black. That was too harsh for the Nazi’s so they followed the 1 or more grandparent rule. That is discussed in Dnesh D’sousa’s movie Death of a Nation, which I saw last week. I understand from a friend’s description this may still be the rule when designating race on birth certificates at least in parts of the US.
During the Nazi era in Germany all SS members had to prove the absence of Jewish ancestry back to app 1800, and officers back to 1750 app. Hitler could not pass the test. I do not “bear false witness” to facts so readily checked as the number reported as I described earlier. I have the DVD and can make a copy if necessary.

Frank Anderson.
I find that you are very well informed and respect your opinions. I’m sure you are quoting correctly.
However, I seriously question whether 100,000 Jews, or anything approaching that figure, VOLUNTARILY co-operated with the Nazis after 1933. Somewhat like blaming the Afro-Americans for slavery. I’ll try to find the documentary.
Frank Anderson says
Rarely, I cannot explain why my notes seem to be delayed. The number I quoted from the episode was not limited to “full” Jews with 4 Jewish grandparents, but included “half” and “quarter” Jews. I explained what I know on the subject on a post that seems still somewhere in limbo. Please, by all means, check it out and see what you can find.
gravenimage says
Frank, your are right about the odd case of Emil Maurice. I don’t think there were any others like him in Nazi Germany.
You wrote:

…………………
This is not the case, Frank, and has not been for decades. The race of the child is based on the race of the mother, and that is self-reported. There is no background investigation into a child’s race.
Frank Anderson says
GI, how come his white niece’s half-black child was listed black on the birth certificate just a few years ago? There are some things that happen to surprise a lot of people.
Today demography indicates Judaism is challenged. One marriage in 3, according to a Jewish rabbi whom I recorded when speaking as Scholar in Residence, is to a non-Jew. Half of all such marriages involve the Jewish partner leaving Judaism. Jews as a total community are not having enough children to maintain their population now. The US community dropped below the popular Zero Population Growth decades ago; and converts “in” are still an identity issue.
I would be reluctant to say in Germany before Hitler that Jews marrying outside of Judaism for generations did not produce enough children over those generations to reach, out of a general population of more than 60,000,000, the number quoted in the story. According to estimates I frequently encounter there were between 500 and 600 thousand full Jews in Germany before their pre-war exodus began. Whatever the estimate of quarter and half Jews it does not seem to me to be unreasonable or impossible. By all means check it out. Truth and clarity help us all.

How bloody hypocritical of the Islamic adherents that they even serve alcohol on their flights. What a bunch of sick twisted individuals they are. When are the populations West and Europe going to wake up to these sick morons? An online friend of years (who originally came from Kenya) was working as an English and French teacher in London. She contacted me saying she had landed a job in Dubai. I suggested that it could be a dangerous move for a single young woman to work there. However; she went. All seemed to be well for around a year or more, she was sending photos of her exploits at camel auctions, races as well as blog updates of these events, on a regular basis. Most if not all the photos showed that there was predominately men at these events, because of this I feared for her safety. She was also blogging and sending photos of trips to other countries during her holidays and time off. Suddenly around a year or so back all communication with her ceased, no emails have been answered, no Facebook PMs, Skype calls have not been answered either, nothing. All endeavours to contact her have been in vain. I did a long ago decide never to visit any Middle Eastern country after an experience there of one of my female cousins who foolhardily set off on a solo word trip in the late seventies. Any Westerner setting foot in those places should be aware of the risks. They are barbaric nations, but I think the Barbarians were tame by comparison.

I think what happened was she became belligerent at Customs and so they threw the book at her and blamed her behavior on drink, giving them an excuse to over react. I think whatever she did made these officials lose face and so they had to treat her in a harsh way. There are other “dry” Emirate States in the UAE where alcohol is banned, such as in Sharjah, but in Dubai it’s totally permissible/legal. Dubai is a great place and to me it was like Disneyland in the Middle East, as long as you don’t get afoul of the officials. But that is the same in any authoritarian (and especially Muslim) country. You have to keep a low profile and not do anything stupid.

This story was covered by Fox News, the Guardian, MSN News, The Telegraph, The Daily Mail, The Times of London, The Irish Times, and even Travel and Leisure Magazine.
Are you saying that *all* of these trusted news sources are lying?
There are other appalling stories out of Dubai, like this one:
“Woman claims rape by 12 men sentenced to jail in Dubai”
https://www.khaleejtimes.com/news/crime/woman-claims-rape-by-12-/men-sentenced-to-jail-in-dubai
And this is from an Islamic source–no “Islamophobes” there.
In fact, the state of human rights is pretty bad in Dubai–just not as horrific as in some parts of Dar-al-Islam. This is damning with faint praise.
Expat88 says
G I, I don’t want to have any kind of argument but to clarify my point of view, first of all, I have been in all the Gulf States even in recent years. Secondly, just because all the news outlets have the same story doesn’t mean it wasn’t a spin (lies) from her side of the story to her partner in the UK. It is far-fetched or half the people getting off planes arriving in Dubai would be arrested for consuming alcohol en route. Thirdly, since I do follow Jihad watch every day almost since its Inception, I am familiar with some of the horror stories that have been reported from Dubai. And fourthly, I was not praising anything other than saying that my own experiences there have all been great. I have traveled to at least half of all the Muslim majority nations in the world + lived in the Middle East for 50% of my life. As a single female I experienced very few problems. I am no fan of Islam and I agree with everything that Robert Spencer says in Jihad watch, and the immense problems with the religion. I just wanted to comment about the travel realities because everyone on this site always say that they would never travel to Muslim countries, and in my opinion they don’t know what they’re talking about. I get tired of reading those hysterical comments from people who have probably never traveled out of their own countries. There are a lot of great great places to see in the world including some Muslim and Arab countries that are safe. I would be much more afraid to go to parts of Chicago then to say a country like Oman. This is the point I was trying to make. And it is based on reality and experience, not on conjecture.

Well said.
Level headed and untainted by the bias that I have seen from some posters on this site.
Unfortunately there are some here who are so doggedly convinced that every form of bad news regarding Muslims or their countries is strictly a result of the bad behavior of the Muslims themselves.
If you try to point out some blame (rightly so in some cases) to another party ( non-Muslim), some posters on this site will view you as some sort of Muslim sympathizer, when in fact all you are guilty of, is sorting out the truth.
Thankfully most of the posters on this site are fair minded which is necessary for JW maintaining a respectable reputation.
Outlandishly foul anti Muslim comments only give fuel to groups like SPLC to justify their classification of JW as a hate group.
The civility shown by Robert Spencer in his many talks is not always reflected in the postings here at JW, but most of the time it is.

https://www.jihadwatch.org/2004/12/italian-fined-3000-for-kiss-in-dubai
There are many more such stories.
Even if you were careful to follow all the restrictive diktats of Shari’ah–as you seem happy to do–a number of these things could have happened to you, although I am glad that they did not.
Would these have been “great” experiences, as well?

Expat88, I had a long comment about various ugly incidents in Dubai that did not post, so I will just link to the JW category:
https://www.jihadwatch.org/category/dubai
I’m glad that none of these things happened to you, but they clearly could have. Surely you do not think that any of these things would be “great”?
Expat88 says
GI, those stories did get through, and I was already aware of a few of them from reading about those previously. I’m not saying that dangerous things could not happen to people when they travel anywhere in the world, however there are some places including Muslim countries that are very safe because they have such strict laws which the locals are afraid to violate. Myself and my friends and associates and co-workers and roommates and others never had bad experiences that I ever heard of other than minor irritants in that part of the world. This included extensive travel and over a long period of time. The point I am trying to make is that there are so many comments on here about how dangerous it is and how crazy it is to visit Muslim countries, but that is not the reality that most travelers experience in certain places. I admit that there are some places I would be hesitant to visit again at this time, because the situations or politics have changed. So that is true that some places have become more unstable recently and therefore possibly not wise to visit. However there are certainly places such in the Gulf that I believe are very safe and have a lot to offer for people who like to see the world.

I also worked in S Arabia for many years. And many of my friends would visit Dubai for a
boozy/party weekend, especially the Dubai rugby 7s.
I have stayed in Dubai and drunk alcohol on many occasions in the hotels and there are nightclubs with Russian female escorts to boot.
Qatar was a very “Dry state” though.
I think there is more to the story than has been reported.
Peter Anderson says
Unfortunately gary, there are some who will not accept the
“there is more to the story than has been reported” aspect of a story.
Especially if by doing so, may result in mitigating the behaviour of Muslims.

And a Christian woman is ARRESTED for DRINKING ALCOHOL BEFORE she was in Dubai up in international airspace.
I guess Sharia law applies to ALL KAFIRS and Muslims are just waiting to CATCH THE KAFIRS … “WHEREVER YOU FIND THEM” … even outside of Muslim airspace.
And the TAQIYYA ARTISTS told us that SHARIA LAW IS HARMLESS and ONLY APPLIES TO MUSLIMS…
Guess what … the TAQIYYA ARTISTS ARE LYING.

Woman given complimentary glass of wine on Emirates flight, then arrested in Dubai for drinking it
This is total hypocrisy because alcohol flows like water in all the hotel bars in Dubai….I’ve seen Arabs consuming alcohol and then pick up prostitutes (i.e. Russian, Chinese and other Middle Eastern countries) and leave for the night. I’ve seen it all when I was in Dubai.
Anyways this incident like a few others that happened over the years will end tourism in Dubai and Abu Dhabi…. as the UAE is now hoping that after their oil and gas reserves are done…. they can rely on tourism. No one will go there.

Say YES to the Gold Coast of Michigan.
The beach at Pokagon State Park on Lake James Indiana looks great compared to this Islamic shet hole.
Troybeam says
A free glass of wine in Muslim countries is equal to lifetime in jail because stupid people go there and accepting wine as a thoughtful gesture is actually a set up to rob you of finances and still put you in jail, best solution is never ever go inside a Muslim nation, avoid at all cost: your life, money, employment and well being.
Christopher80 says
I’ve seen this story several times now… They all have this clickbait title. The issue was her visa… then she made a scene and was filming the altercation in the immigration section of the airport, which clearly says photography and filming is prohibited. Drinking on the plane is secondary to the reason for her arrest. It is standard practice to check anyone for alcohol that is causing a disturbance, consuming alcohol is only allowed if you have a UAE alcohol license, and it’s the responsibility of the consumer, not supplier to be in compliance with the licensing requirements. She gets no sympathy from me.
Expat88 says
I agree completely, Christopher80. The article is misleading, as I suspect there was much more to this story.
John Butler says
I’ve been a tourist and on business in Dubai a handful of times. One can always find, sitting at the hotel bars, Arabs swigging single malts whilst negotiating with European prostitutes.
The hypocracy of Islam is simply breathtaking.

For an educated woman she certainly did not display much in the way of wisdom here.

What an amazing religion! It’s considered an obligation to murder those who don’t believe, and to rape their women, but the real punishment is reserved for those who drink a small amount of alcohol.

I’ve hoisted many glasses of Tiger beer at the Long’s Bar in the Towers Rotana and had bottles of wine at Dubai restaurants. I was not arrested, nor were the hundreds of expats there doing the same thing. Dubai is one of the freest Muslim cities in the Middle East.
So this alleged incident should give cause to question any news sources before wildly reacting as per some of the above comments.
Who knows, some Muslim may have written the story as a means to gain further sympathies when it’s blatant inaccuracies are discovered and the angry people with torches and pitchforks are made out to be laughing stocks.
gravenimage says
Ah…right. Infidels’ reporting on Shari’ah casting a negative light on Islam must really be Muslims looking for sympathy.
In other words, shut up you filthy Kuffar.
Giacomo Latta says
Feel like taking a vacation in a Muslim country to see what it’s like in order to develop a more educated opinion on Islam? Well, I can’t give you any guarantee about how your vacation will go down but I can tell you what the book called The Repentance has to say. Quran (9:2) states “So travel freely, [O disbelievers], throughout the land [during] four months but know that you cannot cause failure to Allah and that Allah will disgrace the disbelievers.” Hmm, polite and welcoming enough. So what happens at the end of these four months? Quran (9:5) informs us. “And when the sacred months have passed, then kill the polytheists wherever you find them and capture them and besiege them and sit in wait for them at every place of ambush. But if they should repent, establish prayer, and give zakah, let them [go] on their way.” You don’t overstay your visit to a Muslim country no matter what your visa says.
Still, shame on anyone visiting a country overrun by muslims. You are aiding and abetting all they are about.
John Shreffler says
The woman was upset that her visa was invalid and had to return. At that point, she pulled out her camera and started filming the officials. I believe that was the issue, the alcohol became the pretext. Officials are not used to anything other than obedience, especially from women.

Ibrahim,
I have some suggestions for self-improvement:
Take a course in English grammar.
Use a spellchecker on your postings.
Use evidence-based logic in your postings.
Your postings also suggest that you are angry and unhappy. This is at least partly due to your Islamic faith. You would undoubtedly feel a lot better if you left this religion entirely. At the very least, try it for a month and see how you feel. What do you have to lose?

I reread the article and it clearly states that there was a problem with her Visa. I believe that she may have lost her cool and that is why she was arrested. The official may have thought that she had more than 1 glass of wine. She should have accepted the offer to return home, then she could have returned once her Visa was in order.
Expat88 says
Yes I agree, as the whole story sounded very screwy to me from the start. It didn’t make any sense. I think she threw a wobbly in the airport and then made it worse by trying to film everything.
Gary says
I have been to Dubai many times and drunk alcohol in various bars there.
Many of my friends would go there for the Dubai rugby sevens and there was no problem whatsoever in obtaining alcohol and drinking it there.
There are nightclubs with many a Russian female and other nationalities to “Befriend.”
Qatar is very “Dry” and you can not take alcohol in…even if you buy it at the Qatar airport duty free shop.
So I, too, think the full story is not being told here.

From just a year ago:
“On August 9th, two Singaporean Nationals were arrested in Abu Dhabi for “looking feminine”, both were charged with a criminal offence, and have already been sentenced. The Embassy advised them not to hire a lawyer. One is identified as a man and the other a pre-operative transgender woman (i.e. “male” on their passport).
The two were sentenced yesterday to 1 year jail. Crossdressing, transgenderism and homosexuality are crimes in the United Arab Emirates.”
KWJ says
Last year a foreign tourist unmarried couple was arrested for sex out of marriage in UAE. I don’t know how they determined that. One can google it. I also read that conservatives want to do the same in Indonesia and that would affect Australians. It hasn’t happened but the conservatives are Arab emulators. Can you imagine going with your boyfriend on vacation in Islamic countries? It’s not worth it.
Even in Jerusalem on the Temple Mount, the Muslim police got on a woman’s face when they were taking a group photo and her husband put his arm around her. It’s all on video. And they’re married. They also harass male tourists in shorts.
Leftists better understand what life in Islamolands can be like because Europe is becoming ever so Islamic. t’s not worth going there. Tourists have been killed. Yet the rich there get away with violating sharia.
gravenimage says
Yes–and a couple was also arrested for just kissing there.
Arthur says
Does this not seem like a miniature version of the “liberal awakening” which will eventually happen to western societies? So proud of their multiculturalism, and yet completely ignorant of the true culture of these foreign countries. When in trouble, the self-identified liberals behave like petulant children as if expecting a cookie and some milk and a quiet “time out” to ease their worried minds. But in countries confident in their own power and corruption, there is no need to even pretend that people have rights.
